Purple scapulars are also called scapulars of benediction and protection. They give protection from chastisements according to Marie-Julie Jahenny, a church approved stigmatist and visionary who received this favor from Jesus and Our Lady in 1878. They have never been disapproved by Vatican and are well-known throughout the world, promoted and approved by exorcists and 3 days of darkness experts.
Correctly handsewn scapulars are hard to find and are very much sought after. They can be worn over the shoulders, carried in your pocket or purse, or hung in a predominant spot in your home where it will be seen, such as, on a wall or over a picture etc. Only one is needed per household and every home should have one. A short special prayer is said daily.
