St Gertrude Prayer

 St Gertrude said this prayer often. Jesus showed her in a vision many souls going up to heaven from purgatory as a result of this prayer. Pray it devoutly daily. This can be said as a prayer or as a chaplet. See chaplets. This prayer has been altered through the years to expand beyond the souls in purgatory. 

Original Prayer as St. Gertrude said it:

"Eternal Father, I offer Thee the most Precious Blood of Jesus, with all the Masses being said all over the world this day, for the Souls in Purgatory."

Expanded Prayer as we now know it:

Eternal father, I offer thee the most Precious Blood of thy Divine son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family Amen.
