Exquisitely detailed 5" Olivewood Standing Pardon Crucifix made in Italy. The wood is from the holy land. This radiant tabletop crucifix will adorn any bookshelf, dresser, mantle, desk or coffee table.
On the front of this beautiful Crucifix above the corpus is the phrase in Latin, "Jesus Nazarenus Rex Judaeorum", meaning “Jesus of Nazareth the King of the Jews”. The backside in English reads “Father forgive them” and “Behold this heart which has so loved men”. In the center is etched the Sacred Heart of Jesus with a cross above it and flames shooting out from the heart.
Included with this crucifix is a small leaflet explaining the pardon crucifix.

Indulgences and Blessings
The most efficacious sacramentals the church offers are the St Benedict Medal, Miraculous Medal and the Pardon Crucifix. Of course, the Rosary (Our Lady's Psalter) is the number one most efficacious prayer and sacramental that ever was or ever will be.
Pope Pius X granted the indulgences for this crucifix in 1905 to obtain pardon from God and to pardon one's neighbor. An Indulgence is the remission of temporal punishment due to sin that has already been forgiven - i.e. in confession. This remission (or indulgence) may be applied to the living or to the souls in Purgatory.
Indulgences (partial or plenary) may be obtained from the Pardon Crucifix:
A) Whoever, at the moment of death, fortified with the Sacraments of the Church, or contrite of heart, in the supposition of being unable to receive them, will kiss this Crucifix and ask pardon of God for his sins, and pardon his neighbor. - Plenary Indulgence is granted
B) Whoever carries on his person the Pardon Crucifix, may thereby gain an indulgence. – Partial each daily - 300 days
C) For devoutly kissing the Crucifix, an indulgence is gained. – Partial each time - 100 days
D) Whoever says one of the following Invocations before this crucifix may gain each time an indulgence: "Our Father who art in heaven, forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us." or "I beg the Blessed Virgin Mary to pray to the Lord our God for me." - Partial each time 7 yrs & 280 days
E) Whoever, habitually devout to this Crucifix, will fulfill the necessary conditions of Confession and Holy Communion, may gain a Plenary Indulgence on the following feasts: on the feast of the Five Wounds of our Lord, the Invention of the Holy Cross, the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, the Immaculate Conception, and the Seven Sorrows (Dolors) of the Blessed Virgin Mary. – Plenary for each one
